About the Department of European Languages

The Department of Languages ​​at Al-nile university of Canadian was established with the aim of specializing in providing qualitative knowledge in the fields of linguistic skills, literary and cultural heritage of a number of European languages, reading, writing and conversation skills. The specialization also aims to enhance the student's linguistic abilities. The division offers a dual bachelor's program. The Department of European Languages ​​was established in response to the university's desire to meet the needs of society, within a wide geographical area, to provide it with qualified cadres who are proficient in writing, reading and speaking in international languages, and in order to prepare students for the labor market. The department is keen to organize and hold meetings, meetings, seminars and workshops and participate in them with other universities.

The college's departments are: Spanish Language and Literature, Hebrew Language and Literature, French Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, African Language and Literature, Adrian Language and Literature, Greek Language and Literature, Italian Language and Literature, Turkish Language and Literature, German Language and Literature, Ancient European Languages ​​and Literature, Islamic Studies in Foreign Languages.

The student studies two languages, specializing in the first, and studying a second language in addition to studying the Arabic language. The first language has many sections, including:

(English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, Korean, French), while the second language (English, French), and the subjects differ according to each department, but some subjects are studied in the different departments such as phonetics, conversation and listening, linguistics (grammar), linguistic studies, linguistic analysis, essay, reading, texts (poetry and prose), translation from and into Arabic, history of literature and civilization, studies in poetry, and the department begins offering subjects for studying the language in the first and second years in order to prepare students to study advanced subjects in different fields.

Department introduction

The Translation Department was established as one of the departments of the College of Languages, to obtain a bachelor's degree in translation from English to Arabic and from Arabic to English. The department is taught by a faculty of PhD and master's degree holders. The study in this program lasts for four academic years, during which the student is provided with the knowledge and skills required in the field of translation and its applications in various scientific fields. This program will enrich the community with qualified cadres in translation, as there is an urgent need for it in the local and neighboring markets. After an extensive study of a number of bachelor's programs in translation in a number of foreign and local universities, a study was prepared to open this program in the College of Languages.

The college, represented by the Translation Department, performs official translation work from various foreign languages ​​into Arabic and vice versa for all documents such as certificates, protocols, grade reports, summaries of scientific theses and research accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals or accepted for participation in international or local conferences, in addition to introductory brochures and guides for some institutions, and all translated documents and papers are approved internally and externally.
